Moniquid was a UK, privacy-first personal finance app: you imported a bank statement instead of linking your bank, and it handled categories, recurring bills, savings goals and a daily safe-to-spend figure.
It isn't currently running and isn't accepting sign-ups. Existing accounts are closed and no subscriptions are being charged. The writing below is still here because people find it useful — it covers budgeting without Open Banking, and what happened to the UK apps that shut down.
